153 people disqualified from driving locally

153 people have been disqualified from driving so far this year across the Northern Sound region. 78 motorists in Cavan and 60 motorists in Monaghan were taken off the road in the first six months due to a court conviction.

While 8 drivers in Monaghan and 7 drivers in Cavan were disqualified due to reaching 12 penalty points. 383 drivers were banned off the roads in both counties during 2023, a slight decrease on the 398 that seen their licenses provoked the previous year.
