The winners of the 2025 awards will be announced at a special ceremony on Sunday, 12 October at the Íontas Theatre in Castleblayney. All nominees will be invited to attend, and their contributions will be recognised on the night.

Since the awards began in 2007, they have honoured volunteers from a wide range of backgrounds and sectors, including sports clubs, heritage groups, disability services, youth programmes, older people’s initiatives, and many more.

Each category winner will receive a perpetual trophy, a commemorative plaque, and a prize to the value of €250. In the case of individual winners, the prize money will be awarded to a voluntary group or organisation that the winner is involved with. All nominees will receive a certificate of recognition.

Speaking in relation to the launch, Sinead Keenan, Coordinator of the Monaghan Volunteer Centre said: "The launch took place at Monaghan Town Courthouse and was attended by Patrick Caldwell, 2024 Volunteer of the Year, Emily Healy, Regional Manager for Victim Support in Court, and Sinéad Keenan, Coordinator of Monaghan Volunteer Centre.

"The event provided a valuable opportunity for Volunteer Centre staff to reconnect with Patrick and learn more about his ongoing voluntary work with the Victim Support in Court programme. Patrick continues to provide vital support to victims of crime attending court in Monaghan and Cavan by helping them understand court procedures, arranging a private space for them to wait, and offering emotional support at what is often a very stressful time. Nominations can be submitted in three ways. The easiest  way is either online or by email, nomination forms can be found by visiting www.volunteermonaghan.ie"
