A man has been remanded in custody after he was charged with setting fire to Emyvale Garda Station.

34 year old Seamus Treanor of 4 St Vincent's Flats, Market Square, Castleblayney, is charged with causing damage by fire to the Garda Station building and a separate building at the same site.

They were completely destroyed in the fire on October 28th 2019.

Mr Treanor appeared before Cavan District Court today.

Judge Denis McLoughlin refused bail and remanded him in custody to appear in Monaghan District Court on March 31st.
