4,000 families to benefit from Back to School payment locally

Almost 4,000 families are set to receive the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance in the Northern Sound Region from today.

The payment is designed to support eligible families witht the cost of school uniforms and footwear ahead of the school term. €160 is paid for children aged between 4 and 11 while €285 is paid for those aged 12 and over in secondary education, 2,174 families in Cavan and 1,725 in Monaghan will benefit from the payment from today. Within those families, 3,991 children in Cavan and 3,208 in Monaghan are the beneficiaries.

Nationally, payments totalling over €47.5 million will be made this week to over 126,000 families.
