Africa Day is returning to Cavan and Monaghan this year with a series of vibrant events.
Africa Day is the annual day that commemorates the foundation of the African Union and celebrates the people and culture of African countries.
This year's event will take place on Sunday the 18th of May.
Susuana Komolafe is originally from Lagos in Nigeria and moved to Ireland with her son and daughter over 20 years ago. She has lived in Cavan for over 15 years.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Susuana says there is a large Irish-African community, who are making significant contributions to our society and economy in towns and villages throughout Ireland.
She has encouraged people to support next month's event adding that it is a "great opportunity" to promote those links and learn more about African cultures.
