Minister Heather Humphreys has appealed to anyone with information on diesel laundering to contact An Gardai Siochana.
Her comments comes as Gardai in Monaghan launch an investigation after the discovery of three dumped containers with diesel sludge in .
The local Minister said those involved in diesel laundering were engaging in criminal activity that was totally unacceptable.

She highlighted the damage it was doing to the environment and to local water systems.
Minister Humphreys added that the activity was also having a "negative impact" across Cavan, Monaghan and the wider border area.
