Appeal issued over attempted hijacking in Blayney

Gardai are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

Gardai in Castleblayney are investigating an attempted hijacking. The incident occurred at Annyalla on the 21st of April.

An appeal by An Garda Siochana featured on RTE's Crimecall last night.

The victim's car was forced off the road by an Audi A4 bearing yellow registration plates.

Three men were in the car, two of which got out of the car and pinned the victim to the ground while the other man demanded the victim handover his car keys.

The victim refused to hand over the car keys and managed to crawl under his own car.

According to Gardai, the suspects were interrupted by an oncoming vehicle and fled in the direction of the old N2. Both suspects are described by Gardai as black males in their 20s, one of which is taller than the other.
