Gardaí have issued an appeal for witnesses to a shooting in Longford town last night.
A man in his 70s was seriously injured when shots were fired through the window of a house shortly before 8 o'clock. He was taken to the Regional Hospital in Mullingar, where is he's understood to be in a stable condition. No arrests have been made, and Gardaí are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.
