A local farmer has issued an appeal over the theft of 38 sheep from a field near Carrickmacross.
38 hoggets were taken from farmland near Magheracloone just off the main Carrickmacross to Kingscourt Road.
The theft occurred sometime between Monday night and Tuesday morning of this week.
The breeds were a combination of Texal, Charollais, Blue Leicester and Suffolk sheep. Colin Wallace said the taking of the hoggets is a kick in the teeth for him and his wife.
Mr Wallace praised local Gardai for the work that they have carried out so far and Gardai in Carrickmacross are currently investigating the incident.
He appealed to anyone who may have CCTV footage of the area or who may have seen anything while the incident occurred.
Meanwhile, Colin also appealed for anyone in the region to look out for the flock that might be in a field where sheep may not normally be.
