A funding allocation of €792,000 has been awarded for an extensive town centre regeneration project focusing particularly on the Main Street in Bailieboro.
The funding was announced by Minster Dara Calleary under the Rural Regeneration and Development Fund.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Minister Smyth said this investment will help rejuvenate locals towns, combat dereliction, and make our rural communities even better places to work, live and thrive: "I know that Caroline Brady from Cavan County Council working alongside Ciaran Galligan in the Bridewell are carrying out incredible work to make a new plan for our main street.
"Over the years we have seen a lot of vacancy and dereliction but thankfully we have also seen a lot of re-vitalisation and these empty units are becoming busy again with good footfall. With increased footfall comes the town needing a face-lift which is what this funding allocation will go towards.”
