It's been confirmed that Ballybay Fire Station will be prioritised in the list of proposed new-build fire stations under the 2021 to 2025 capital programme.
Minister of State for Local Government, Malcolm Noonan, made the announcement in response to a question from local Senator Robbie Gallagher.
Senator Gallagher asked the Minister to "to ensure that this facility is provided".

Minister Noonan told the Seanad that his Department had "received a detailed cost plan for the project, outlining an estimated total build cost of €1.7 million".
The Minister added that he will "certainly" give Ballybay Fire Station the "highest priority"
