Developing food tourism in Cavan is the way forward for retailers,
producers, and the hospitality sector.
Deirdre Donnelly, is Cavan County Council's Food Strategy Co-Ordinator and
she says that tourism is the future when it comes to supporting local food
products.
A new online hub for Cavan food and drink called CreatedinCavan.ie was launched during the week in order to encourage retail and foodservice
outlets to purchase Cavan produce, as well as the community.
The aim of the website is to promote 'the Cavan food story' but Deirdre says that is only the start, and they hope to see more food and drink
related events in the coming years bringing people from all over Ireland to
the county.
