A man and woman in their 30s have been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drink and drugs and a young boy hospitalised after a one-vehicle collision on the A5 last night (Thursday)

Part of the A5 from Ballygawley to Omagh was closed last night due to a one-car road traffic collision.

Police attended the scene following a report of an incident at 9pm.  A man and a woman in their 30s were arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily injury by dangerous driving, and driving when unfit through drink or drugs.

The PSNI's Sergeant McCartan told Northern Sound an ambulance attended the one-vehicle crash and a 'young boy was taken to hospital for treatment for pelvis, arm and head injuries'.

'A man and a woman were also taken to hospital for treatment for injuries which are not believed to be life threatening at this time', the officer said.
