Britney Arendse set to make history at Paralympic Games tomorrow morning

Cavan's Britney Arendse will make history when she competes at
the Paralympic Games in the early hours of tomorrow morning.

Having started powerlifting at 16, she will become Ireland's first female
athlete to compete in the sport at the Paralympics.

The Mullagh powerlifter will perform in the finals of the women's 73
kilogram event, which kicks off at around 4am Irish time.

It's already been an eventful games for the South-African born athlete as
she was chosen to be the Irish team's flagbearer at the opening ceremony,
alongside Killarney high-jumper Jordan Lee.
