A Co Monaghan senator has raised the need for the Minister for Culture, Communications and Sport to make a statement on the future of St Tiernach's Park, Clones.
It was revealed last week that Casement Park is set to have a capacity below 34,500 as anticipated.
Although it has not been officially confirmed, this clears the way for St Tiernach's Park, Clones to continue to host the Ulster senior final.
According to Robbie Gallagher, this gives stakeholders and public representatives an opportunity to reinvigorate efforts again to ensure that Clones is developed going forward.
Senator Gallagher says not just as a sporting venue for ulster finals but for other community facilities so we can attract big events to Clones which will be good for the town of Clones and it's economy.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Senator Gallagher said he was delighted to facilitate a meeting with all the stakeholders involved to see how they could all put their heads together and push forward the redevelopment of St Tiernach's Park.
As a result of that, funding was approved and work is ongoing at the minute.
He said there are number of funds available that potentially could develop Clones to a new level and it's important that we all work together to ensure that we get to that destination as quickly as possible:
