Only 3.8 per cent of Irish farms are jointly registered to men and women, when CSO figures show women do 25 per cent of all farm work.

There are calls for more to be done to recognise the efforts of female farmers in Cavan and Monaghan.

Figures from the Women in Agriculture Stakeholders Group shows just 111 female farmers from Cavan and Monaghan took part in recent Knowledge Transfer schemes.

While only 3.8 per cent of Irish farms are jointly registered to men and women, when CSO figures show women do 25 per cent of all farm work.

Chair of the group, Hannah Quinn-Mulligan is calling for gender equality and says there needs to be representational changes.
