The Court case on the death of Stephen Marron in Castleblayney has been adjourned.

36 year old James Tomany of 122 Clay Road, Keady, County Armagh appeared before Monaghan Circuit Court this morning via videolink from Cloverhill Prison.

He is charged with dangerous driving causing death and endangerment in relation to an incident in Castleblayney in November 2018.

Its alleged Mr Tomany was driving the car that hit Stephen Marron’s parked car on Main Street in the town.

The 47 year old father of two was killed, and Garda Michael Devlin was injured in the same incident.

The Court heard today that the case is to be pushed back to allow the prosecution consider a psychiatric report.

It was also agreed that should it be required, Mr Tomany would make himself available for a further examination by a State psychiatrist.

The case will now be heard at the next sitting of Monaghan Circuit Court in May.
