Catherine Connolly to be inaugurated as Ireland’s 10th President next month

Catherine Connolly will be inaugurated as the tenth president of Ireland next month.

She was confirmed as president-elect last night, after securing more than 900 thousand votes.

Political Correspondent, Seán Defoe reports.

Just under 13 percent of votes were spoiled, a significant increase on the figure for previous elections.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin says that's concerning.
