The finalists for the Blas na hÉireann Irish Food Awards, 2022 has been announced for the region and the countdown is on for the event's return to Dingle.
The finalists shortlisted from Co Monaghan include Arthur Mallon Foods, Connolly Meats, Connollys Organic Eggs, Glaslough Chocolate, IGWT Poultry Services, Lakeland Dairies Monaghan, Mallon Foods, McBride's Bees, McCaughey Foods, Old Carrick Mill Distillery, Silver Hill Duck and The Nest Box Egg Company.
In Cavan, Carleton Cakes, Carton Bros Ltd, Drummully Boxty, Ice Cream Treats, Lakeland Dairies, Liffey Meats, Manor Farm, Mary-Ellen's Meadow, and Vanilla Bean Patisserie have all been shortlisted.
Food Strategy Co-Ordinator with Cavan Co Council, Patricia Smith, said the local authority would continue to work with Cavan Food Network to promote the county as a vibrant foodie destination.
She added that a number of exciting projects were currently in progress under the 'Created in Cavan' banner.
