A Cavan-based renewable energy company has acquired a majority stake in a leading wind turbine provider, which is also based in Cavan.
Galetech Group has acquired a 38% stake in Optinergy.
The deal marks the end of a five-year relationship between Optinergy and BVP investments.
Optinergy provides a full suite of wind turbine maintenance services and currently employs 40 people.
Galetech plans to double its turnover and double the number of employees by 2023.
Darren Sherry, Director at Galetech Group, said it was the "opportune time to increase our interest in Optinergy and assist them in continuing their expansion".
Meanwhile, the Managing Director of Optinergy, Aiden Watters, said "becoming part of Galetech Group aligns with our priority of growing the business both in Ireland and overseas".
