Co Cavan businessman Sean Gallagher has confirmed that he will not be putting his name forward in the upcoming Presidential Elections.
The Ballyhaise native ran back in 2011 and also 2018.
Speaking on today's Joe Finnegan Show, Mr Gallagher revealed that he has had at least half a dozen people contact him over the last three months for conversations about whether or not they should run.
He said he is aware that there is a variety of other candidates potentially looking to announce their candidacy, adding that "it's great" to see so many people coming forward.
The local businessman also had high praise for former Minister Heather Humphreys over her decision to run.
Having known her for years, Mr Gallagher commended her "tremendous track record" which she held over many years in her roles as a Minister.
He told today's Joe Finnegan Show; "I think it's great news for Heather. She has a tremendous track record I think over many years not just in the constituency and politics in general but in her role as a Minister and she is widely regarded."
