A Bill to ban single-use vapes has passed all stages of the Oireachtas.
It'll mean flavoured vapes will be banned, and vapes will be limited to tobacco options only.
The sale of nicotine consumption products, like snus pouches, will also be prohibited to under-18s.
The bill will be brought before the President to be signed into law.
Co Cavan councillor Brendan Fay has been a long-standing advocate for banning single use vapes throughout the island of Ireland.
Having raised the issue constantly at local authority level, Cllr Fay believes the harm that vapes are doing to people, particularly young people is extremely worrying.
