Cavan councillor calls on the Government to "do more" to protect vulnerable people living in rural areas.

119 burglaries have been reported to Gardaí across Cavan and Monaghan so far this year.

That's according to Aontú Cllr, Sarah O'Reilly who pointed out that 60 incidents took place in Cavan while 59 occurred in Monaghan.

The figures show the Covid-19 pandemic led to a decrease in the number of burglaries reported, with 254 reports between the two counties in 2020, compared with 413 in 2019.
