Cavan County Council is to host public consultation events throughout the county in preparation of a new County Development Plan for 2022 to 2028.
This plan will set out the overall strategy and vision for the proper planning and sustainable development of the county over the six-year period.
The Draft Cavan County Development Plan, and all accompanying reports, is available for the public to view until Friday, August 6th, via the Cavan County Council website.
Submissions or observations can also be made to the Planning Authority, in writing or email, up until 4pm on Friday, August 6th.
The Local Authority will also host public consultation events, which will operate as a drop-in service, to allow the public to engage with staff members and discuss the Development Plan process.
The events begin this coming Monday, and each one will be held between 3 pm and 8 pm.
The first event on Monday, June 14th, is in the Town Hall in Cavan Town, followed by a drop-in service in Cavan County Museum in Ballyjamesduff on Tuesday, June 15th.
On Thursday, June 17th, the Slieve Russell Hotel in Ballyconnell will host the public consultation.
On Monday, June 21st, Pikers Lodge in Lough Gowna will host the event, with Kingscourt Community Centre playing host on Tuesday, June 22nd.
The final public consultation will be held in the Errigal Hotel, Cootehill, on Thursday, June 24th.
While an appointment is not necessary, the County Council says it would be helpful if people emailed ahead their expected time of arrival and venue, in order to allow the events to run in line with current Covid restrictions.
