10 sites were surveyed in both Monaghan Town and Cavan Town, with both towns being praised for their efforts to keep them tidy and litter free.

Monaghan has been found to be "cleaner than European norms" while Cavan Town, which came in in 17th place is listed as "clean to European norms".

The car, which was parked outside a home in the Swellan Lower area of Cavan Town, was taken without authorisation.

On-street parking in the town has been free from early December over the holidays and today.

The e-card version of the card in particular will be beneficial in encouraging the future generation to shop local.

One woman was injured and taken to Cavan General.

The event is taking place this evening from 4pm until 9pm and at the same time again tomorrow.

The site is located in the townland of Townparks, bounded to the north by St Clare's National School and to the west by the existing surface car park of the current Tesco Store.
