"There's more strength in love and solidarity than there is in hatred and division."
That's according to Sean Walsh who is co-chairperson of the first ever Cavan Pride event which is due to take place this Saturday.
Attendees are set to assemble at 12:30pm, before a 1pm start at the Cavan Courthouse.
Sean highlighted the importance of regional prides as it shows visibility and solidarity.
He believes pride marches are all about celebrating the rights that the LGBTQ+ community have won while fighting for the rights that still need to achieved.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Sean said there has been a rise in far-right sentiment across the country.
