A local councillor is hoping that works that are underway on an unfinished housing development in Carrickmacross will finally see the housing units completed.
Cllr Colm Carthy says he has been given completion dates for the Clos na Droimmainne estate on the Ardee Road in the past for them to come and go.
The first 7 houses in the development were completed in the past with more expected to be completed soon.
Cllr Carthy says the Municipal District Councillors for Carrickmacross have been united in pushing the development.
He said not only will it deliver much-needed housing but we shared the annoyance of everyone from the town that this eyesore was being left to rot.
The Sinn Fein councillor says local reps and the council continue to support the developer to try and bring this saga to a conclusion.
Cllr Carthy says while he’s an optimist at heart ,he hopes the extensive scaffolding is the start of works to complete the development.
