There has been a total of eight nominations in Cavan across six different categories for this year's Friends of Breastfeeding Awards.
The event will take place later today at the Tullamore Court Hotel.
The Virginia Breastfeeding group has been shortlisted for 'best breastfeeding support group of the year' which the local group won back in 2023.
Lorna Fitzpatrick Gaule has been nominated for Volunteer of the Year for her work within the Virginia breastfeeding group.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Lorna said she personally found the group "extremely knowledgeable" and wanted to "give something back" as a volunteer after gaining so much from the group.
