Cavan and Monaghan sees 16% increase in numbers receiving Pandemic Unemployment Payment

The number of people in receipt of the Pandemic Unemployment Payment in the Northern Sound region has increased by 16% in the past week.

Figures released today reveal that 5,547 people across the region are receiving PUP, up from 4,664 last week.

In Cavan, 2,875 people are receiving the payment, up from 2,430 last week.

Meanwhile, 2,627 people in Monaghan are in receipt of PUP, up from 2,234 last week.

Nationwide, €61.4 million is to be paid in PUP tomorrow, a 10% increase on last week.
