Student musicians from Cavan and Monaghan are taking part in a special cross-border St. Patrick's weekend performance in Belfast.
Music Generation Cavan/Monaghan is coming together with Belfast TradFest, and Dublin's St. Patrick's Festival for what is being billed as a "groundbreaking national collaboration" culminating in a performance in Belfast's iconic Ulster Hall.
Over 100 young musicians from Cavan, Monaghan, and border counties will join others from Dublin and Belfast as part of the Cross Border Orchestra
They will perform the work of Máirtín O'Connor which has been reimagined and arranged by acclaimed Monaghan composer Michael Rooney.
The project underscores the power of music to transcend boundaries and bring communities together and it's hoped being part of the 100-strong the orchestra will inspire the next generation of performers to carry the tradition forward.
