A new security service based in Cavan is offering an "extra eye" to property owners who are in fear of potential thefts and burglaries.
'Rural Eye Security' was developed by Owen Fitzpatrick who believes it's more important than ever before to offer security protection to local homeowners. The service already provides physical security services and mobile patrols to commercial premises.
Speaking on this morning's Joe Finnegan Show, Mr Fitzpatrick said he noticed a "gap in the market "for this service, given the increase in thefts and burglaries across Cavan and Monaghan in recent times.
According to Mr Fitzpatrick, offering this service to local communities does not negatively reflect on the services already provided by An Garda Siochana who they work closely with, but that it does offer an "extra eye."
He added that it is "important" for local homeowners to be aware of the additional security services that can be available to them when they are not at home.
