A Co. Cavan Senator has called for a debate in the Seanad about acute medical care in our hospitals.
In recent months, Sinn Féin Senator Pauline Tully has been raising concerns about medical care, arising from the stories of hospital patients.
Senator Tully had previously used a commencement matter to ask the Minister of Health to address the issue.
However, there was nobody from the Department of Health in attendance.
This week, the local Senator told the story of a woman in her 30s who developed sepsis, after getting an infection from kidney stones.
In her address, she highlighted her ongoing concerns.
