A Co. Cavan Senator has slammed the Tánaiste, Simon Harris, for his comments about dereliction.
Aontú Senator, Sarah O'Reilly told the Seanad said it was a "low blow to attack local authorities and councillors".
Senator O'Reilly questioned whether the Tánaiste had "forgotten" that the local authorities get their policy from the government.
She explained that dereliction is a "massive and complicated issue", and defended the actions taken by County Councils.
According to the Co. Cavan woman, local authorities are struggling, and need to receive more resources.
