A Cavan Town National School has been granted planning permission for a two storey extension to its school building.
The development at St Felim’s National School on the Farnham Road will see the construction of two new classrooms, a link corridor and ancillary accommodation.
The planner's report says the works will "enhance the social character of Cavan Town Centre".

Elsewhere, a Cavan preschool is seeking permission to erect a roofed canopy over its existing outdoor play area.
A decision on the application by Bunnoe Community Preschool in Lisboduff, Cootehill is expected by the 6th of December.
