TY student Niamh Boyle attends Loreto College in Co Cavan.
This week the 15-year-old attended the Dáil na nÓg 2024 event in Leinster House.
Dáil na nÓg is the biennial assembly of Ireland's National Youth Parliament.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Niamh said that the topics discussed on the day were around body image, mental health services and school stress.
According to the Cavan student, the experience was a "wonderful" opportunity to express her thoughts and ideas and to also share her concerns and what could be done to rectify them at Government level.
Niamh said that politics is something that she would definitely see herself getting into in the future and that the involvement of more women in the political arena is always a positive thing.
