A Ballyjamesduff woman is leading the call for an additional €27.3 million for youth services in the next Budget.
Kathryn Walsh of the National Youth Council of Ireland says the funding is needed to help youth organisations cope with rising costs and growing demand.
She says many clubs and services are struggling to keep going, with waiting lists growing.
The funding request includes money to protect existing services and provide more youth spaces in local communities.
Speaking on the Joe Finnegan show this morning, Kathryn explained the importance of youth work and interest in youth activity.
