Cavan woman who hoped to have dream wedding after terminal diagnosis has died

Ciara's requiem mass will take place tomorrow morning at 11am in St Patrick's Church, Castletara.

A Cavan woman who hoped to have her dream wedding after being diagnosed with a terminal illness has died.

Ciara Tighe (neé O'Hanlon), from Clonery, Poles, Co Cavan, passed away yesterday in the care of her family and staff at St Christopher's Hospice in Cavan.

Ciara had a rare and aggressive form of Ewing Sarcoma and was recently told by her medical team that her time was limited.

A fundraiser was then launched so that Ciara could have her dream wedding.

She will repose at her home today from 5 to 8pm, and her requiem mass will take place tomorrow morning at 11am in St Patrick's Church, Castletara, with interment in the adjoining cemetery.
