Chieftains founder Paddy Moloney will be laid to rest in Co Wicklow this morning

A half-page obituary was published for him in the New York Times this week.

Chieftains founder Paddy Moloney will be laid to rest in Co Wicklow this morning, after he died on Tuesday.

His funeral Mass is taking place in St Kevin's Church in Glendalough, with burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.

The 83-year-old helped to bring traditional Irish music to the fore - and a half-page obituary was published for him in the New York Times this week.
