Clarity is needed from the government to avoid "confusion" among older people regarding covid-19 public health guidelines.

Taoiseach Micheál Martin is due to address the nation shortly after 6pm to outline the roadmap to ending covid restrictions.

Margaret Hopkins is the North East Regional Chair of Active Retirement Ireland, which covers Cavan and Monaghan.

She says older people don't know when they can return to their indoor activities and lack "clear guidelines" on how many can gather at these events.
