CMETB is finalising arrangements to develop the former army barracks as a Cavan Institute campus.
In September, Higher Education Minister Simon Harris announced plans to have classrooms, practical rooms, as well as office space, a canteen and sports facility at the Dun Ui Neill site.
In 2012, CMETB acquired the land on in Cavan town, with the view to create a FET campus.

Minister Harris previously said the development would centralise education facilities and eliminate the need for rental agreements around the town.
A CMETB spokesperson confirmed to Shannonside Northern Sound that it is currently finalising arrangements with the contractor to deliver the interim accommodation for Cavan Institute.
