Monaghan registered the sixth-lowest number of complaints against lawyers last year.
Figures released by the Legal Services Regulatory Authority reveal 14 complaints were made in Monaghan, while 19 complaints were made against lawyers in Co Cavan.
1,422 complaints were made nationwide last year, with Dublin accounting for close to 40% of this figure, with 559 complaints made.

Almost 60% (819) of the complaints related to alleged misconduct, over a third (496) alleged that the legal services provided were of an "inadequate standard", while fewer than 10% (107) of complaints centered on alleged excessive costs.
Only 365 of these complaints were closed during 2020, of which 184 were deemed inadmissible.
