A local Senator has welcomed funding for local Coillte recreational sites.
Minister for Rural and Community Development and the Gaeltacht, Dara Calleary TD, has today announced details of €3.13m funding that the department will provide nationally in 2026 as part of its' strategic partnership with Coillte.
Some of the new recreation amenities being funded in Monaghan include Black Island, Castleshane, Dartey and Rossmore Forest Park.

In Cavan some funding will apply to Bailieborough, Deerpark, Dun an Ri, and Loughanleagh.
Speaking to Northern Sound today, local Senator Robbie Gallagher welcomed the funding.
