A local councillor says common sense has prevailed in relation to the opening hours of Ballyconnell Garda Station.
It was announced over the weekend that the Co Cavan Garda Station had new opening hours as Monday morning last which seen the station operating from 7am until 9am and 6pm to 8pm.
The opening hours previous to this was 9am to 9pm. Councillor Peter McVitty says he received confirmation late yesterday evening that the previous opening hours has been reinstated.

Cllr Áine Smith has also welcomed the continuation of existing services in Ballyconnell Garda Station.
Cllr McVitty added that it was the right decision to see the local Garda Station returned to the original opening hours.
