A respiratory consultant for Cavan/Monaghan says every eligible person across the region should get their winter vaccines to protect themselves.
Professor James Hayes is a Consultant Respiratory Physician who has practiced in the Cavan/Monaghan area over the last 30 years.
Professor Hayes says the vaccine can protect people from the worst impacts of flu and COVID-19.

Children aged 2–17 should get the nasal flu vaccine from their local pharmacy or GP.
Although flu cases didn’t surge after the festive period as expected, local health professionals warn there is still time for cases to rise.
