A local man is calling for more services to be offered at Monaghan Hospital.
Tommy Hagan from Monaghan recently attended the minor injury unit at Monaghan Hospital after suffering a fall and injuring his back. Staff told him that they were only able to provide X-ray's from the knee down, and he would need to go to Cavan General to get the required X-ray. The former county councillor says staff at Cavan General are ran off their feet, which is affecting wait times. He called on local representatives to keep raising the issue of opening an A & E unit at Monaghan Hospital.
