A Cootehill author has written a book focusing on the history of the local railway station
Jonathan Smyth, whose great grandfather was stationmaster at the station, began collecting stories, to preserve what he describes as a "vanished world."
The book details daily life on the railway, from cattle movements and industry to humorous and personal anecdotes about staff and locals.
It also highlights some of the bygone era, lesser known stories, including the role women played working in and around the station.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Jonathan outlined his inspiration for recording this piece of history.
