A local councillor has asked for an update on safety improvements at the busy Treehoo Cross junction in County Cavan.
The junction is an issue affecting the Redhills, Bunnoe, Scotshouse and Ballyhaise areas, and is being described as dangerous due to poor visibility.
Cllr Conaty outlined that crashes occur there, though he noted that fortunately no fatalities have been recorded in recent years, but fears if the situation is not improved quickly it may lead to road deaths.
A low-cost safety scheme application has now been submitted by the MD.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Cllr Conaty says he hopes the planned measures will finally make the junction safe for all road users.
