Speaking to Northern Sound, Fran Whearty from the National Lottery says with a prize this size it’s unusual that the winner hasn’t made contact with The National Lottery as of yet.

"With the claim deadline fast approaching for this Lotto Plus Raffle prize, we are keeping our fingers and toes crossed that the winner comes forward very soon. A Monaghan player out there has a ticket worth a life-changing amount of €1,000,500. The player could be a local to the area or maybe even someone who was passing through Emyvale and decided to buy a ticket on their travels. We are hoping that Thursday 17th August might ring a bell with a player out there who may have purchased their ticket in at Centra on the Main Steet in Emyvale.”

Fran says the clock is ticking and the champagne is still on ice for the lucky winner at Lotto HQ. Glyn Williams who owns the Centra store with his wife Gráinne says they were delighted to hear the news that they sold the winning ticket, The winning stores owner says the hype around the store has been great but he says he would like to see someone cashing in on this life changing amount.

A National Lottery spokesperson has encouraged Lotto players all over the country who are either local to the area or who were passing through and may have purchased a Lotto ticket on Emyvale Main Street, to check their old tickets as soon as possible."
