“A drive and desire to see positive change” has seen two groups from a Monaghan school recognised by the Young Social Innovators Awards.
LGBTeens and Freepair Ireland, both from Beech Hill College, were both “Highly Commended” in the recent awards.
LGBTeens promotes inclusion and understanding of the LGBT+ community through its “Queer and Allies” podcast, which is available on Spotify.

Meanwhile, Freepair Ireland encourages people to become more sustainable by repairing their devices and reducing e-waste.
A website and social media accounts were created with tips on how to repair devices.
Speaking to Northern Sound, Niall McKeogh, YSI Guide for Beech Hill, said he’s proud to be part of the process and is already excited for next year:
