Do Not Consume notice issued for Cavan group water scheme

A Do Not Consume notice has been put in place on a group water scheme in Cavan.

The notice is in effect on the Farmoyle/Barraghy Group Water Scheme.

The HSE and Cavan County Council have issued the notice "to protect the health of all customers on the system".

Boiling water will not render it safe to drink and it should not be consumed.

Alternative water supplies are being provided in Niall Dempsey's yard beside Eircode H18 E640 - this water must be boiled first.

Over the coming days each household affected will receive a full written notification and a phone call.
